What do you get when you have close friends, good times and great musicianship? You get a band called More Than Reason. I personally have had the pleasure to share a stage and know these guys all on a personal level and they have come a long ways from when they started out.
Hailing from Monrovia, CA, the metalcore five-piece More Than Reason got their start in 2011. Originally started by founding members Danny Baltazar (ex-Love On The Lips Of A Whore drummer) on drums and Leo Estrada on guitars, the duo sought after filling out the lineup. Taking a new approach, they recruited female vocalist Jin Choi into the lineup. Shortly after, Michael Ruble joined originally as bassist then took on the guitarist role. After multiple lineup problems the group gained brothers Jimmy (bass) and Alex (guitars/vocals) Ippolito.
The band does have a four song demo with the previous lineup but is hitting the studio shortly to record a new demo. The group may be fairly new into the scene but they have been hard at work hopping onto any show they can get to. They will be playing with All Ages Assault (see my previous post) at the Glass House in Pomona, CA on October 20th if anyone would like to see them live.
