So I have been on a fix of looking up some bands that were coming up into the scene from the earlier days like the high school backyard show days I used to play and go to. One of the forgotten bands from back then was Dead and Dying which happened to have popped up on my iTunes while I was at home. Here's the info on them.
Dead and Dying was formed in Hollywood, CA in the spring of 2007 by veterans of the Hardcore scene. Members include Rick Rigney on drums/vocals (ex-Dying Breed), Boonie on guitar/vocals, Davey G. on vocals, and Dan Ryan on bass. The result of this combination is a heavy familiar sound from the TROYCORE streets. In 2008, the group released a demo which caught the attention of many. They infused the intensity and speed of punk while keeping the heavy and fast-paced energy of hardcore.
The lyrics speak the truth while the music creates intensity allowing listeners to relate and decimate. Influences such as Iron Maiden, Sheer Terror, Sick Of It All, Cro-Mags, Carnivore, Agnostic front, Breakdown and their own scene has sparked an interest in hardcore while Dead and Dying carry on the TROYCORE tradition that they have been veterans of since the beginning.
