The Letter Red (10/22/12)

The Letter Red was a well known local band from my high school days. Hearing of a local band playing events like Vans Warped Tour was unheard of back then but this band was not your usual band.

The Letter Red was a metalcore four-piece from Pasadena, CA that got their start in 2004. The band consisted of Jamie on guitar, Travis on vocals, Farrar on bass and Jeff on drums. The group released their first demo in 2005 featuring the track "The League of Extra-Ordinary Men" which became their known single at all shows. The band also recorded a self-titled EP that was never released.

The group has shared the stage with such acts as From A Second Story Window, Every Time I Die, He Is Legend, Scars Of Tomorrow, Nevea Tears , The Acacia Strain, Inked In Blood, Remembering Never, Underoath, The Receiving End Of Sirens, Into The Moat, Throwdown, Suicide Silence, The Faceless, The Human Abstract, Terminal, The Red Death and many more. They have also won quite a few battle of the bands events at high schools and the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands for Warped Tour '06.

The band officially broke up in 2007 but their music still lives on for anyone who was part of the local scene through the 626 area and remembers the days of No Future Cafe in Pasadena. Bands may end but their music is forever.
